Summary: Under general supervision, but according to established policies and procedures, will provide assistance to the Lending Department in connection with assessing the overall creditworthiness of existing and potential Commercial Real Estate Borrowers. Will use business expertise and industry knowledge to evaluate risk and make credit and loan structure recommendations based on extensive due diligence of collateral, sponsors, tenants and market expertise. Manages transactions independently and will generally work on any size deal including larger and more complex structures such as Structured Finance transactions. Supports Lending Department in maintaining high quality business by actively managing risk and identifying business opportunities through strong credit analysis and extensive industry knowledge.
Minimum/Essential Job Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting or equivalent training and experience, in order to be able to analyze applicable reports and statements to make evaluations
7+ years or more of related experience with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial real estate lending, underwriting or risk management
Knowledge of New Jersey and Metro New York real estate markets and industry dynamics
Effective negotiation, risk management and communications skills.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
A high level of analytical ability to determine loan risk and recommend credit limitations
Strong communication skills.
Self-starter with ability to work independently
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
