Risk and Compliance Analyst

Summary: Provides direct administrative and operational support to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and indirect support to the Risk ManagementDepartment. Responsible for maintaining and tracking all review, audit and assessment initiatives as well as capturing the results, deficiencies and exceptions to assure effective monitoring and coordination by the office of the CRO. Assists in the analysis, monitoring and revision of current Bank policies and procedures to ensure practical and timely compliance. Assists in communications between the office of the Chief Risk Officer and all respective areas of the Bank regarding risk management and compliance requirements, laws and procedures. Acts as the liaison to the Risk Management Department groups. Documents, drafts and forwards required Committee Meeting Minutes to the Committee(s) upon approval.  Monitors, updates and maintains multiple tracking workbooks, logs and presentations.

Minimum/Essential Job Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree; or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school; or completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.

  • Three to five years of similar or related experience. Regulatory experience a plus.

  • Attention to detail in researching, formulating an opinion on and implementing vague regulations, while enabling the Bank to conduct its business without interference.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Knowledge of regulatory protocol, courtesy, and tact are essential elements of the job.  Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local banking laws, regulations and standards is critical.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. and have the ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the time.
